Turkey Astrology & Mythology Tour considers sites linked to major and minor gods and mythological characters. We will discuss both the physical remains at the sites and the literary texts that inform our understanding of their associated myths and rituals. Starting from Istanbul where we will visit major ancient monuments, we will continue to the south visiting Troy where we will discuss the events of the Homeric conflict, Assos, Metropolis, Pergamum, Ephesus, Didyma, Priene, Euromus to Ancient Halicarnassus where we will have ferry to Knidos. Our tour continues with Lagina, Nysa, Aphrodisias, Hierapolis and finally Perge in Antalya.
Istanbul : Hippodrome, Basilica of St. Sophia, Basilica Cistern, Archeological Museum
Assos: Canakkale Museum, Troy, Assos, Mount Ida
Kusadasi: Pergamum (Acropolis and Asclepion), Ancient Metropolis, Ephesus, Artemis Temple, the Ephesus Museum
Bodrum: Priene, Didyma, Euromus, Knidos
Pamukkale: Lagina, Nysa, Aphrodisias, Hierapolis
Antalya: Perge, Archaeological Museum
