Central Turkey Archaeology Tour encompasses the northern rim of the Fertile Crescent and one of the cradles of civilisation, Catalhoyuk, still under excavation, dating back to 7,000 BC and perhaps the most famous Neolithic site in the world. Anatolia is also home to a number of unique and fascinating civilisations and this tour takes in the Bronze Age Hittite capital of Hattusas in the heart of Anatolia, the tumulus of the legendary King Midas at Gordion and the Assyrian trading colony at Kultepe. Furthermore included are the splendid Classical-era sites along the Mediterranean coast near Antalya, the Byzantine churches of Cappadocia and the old Constantinople, plus the Islamic wonders of two former Ottoman capitals, Bursa and Istanbul.
